REVIEW - 3 JULY 2004

The Christchurch Festival on Saturday was opened by local acoustic duo Indian Summer.  Singer/Songwriter Sophie and Guitarist Jamie performed an impressive 45 minute set, mixing favourites with their own original songs.  Their performance was a superb start to the day and had songs for all tastes from ballads to blues.  Excellent vocals and guitar proved that Indian Summer are a local talent to make us proud.A number of talented local bands continued throughout the day, culminating with the return to Christchurch of Gordon Haskell in the evening.
The weather was mainly good and the event, as ever, was very well organised by Paul Cole and his team.  Artistes gave their services free and proceeds will be donated to the Mayor of Christchurch for charities.
